CHANGING SHORTCUT ICONS
How can I change the icon displayed on a shortcut?
- Right-Click on the shortcut you
would like to change
- Click Properties
- Choose the Shortcut tab
- Click the Change Icon button
You will see the current Icon
[and maybe some more choices]
- Click the Browse button
A "Windows Explorer" window will open
Navigate to the folder where the icon
file you wish to install is
- Click on any .ICO or .BMP file to select it
- Click Open
You should now see that icon displayed
- Click Apply
- Click OK
You should now have an new icon
for that Shortcut on your Desktop
NOTE:
There are also many ICONS on your system
in the .DLL format (this format allows many different
icons to be contained in a single file [ICON LIBRARY]
