To upgrade 75MHz Pentium processor-based systems to 150MHz use the 200MHz Pentium OverDrive processor with MMX technology.

* The 200-MHz Pentium OverDrive processor with MMX technology is designed for upgradable Socket 7 systems. Installation in upgradable Socket 5 systems should not be attempted unless the system meets the minimum Socket 7 specification.

Key Product Features

Pentium OverDrive Processors with MMX Technology

Technical Talk Easy Speak
Pre-configured bus-to-core speed ratios Typically no motherboard jumpers to change when installing
Integrated fan heatsink Cools processor
On-package voltage regulation - adapts 3.3v system voltage to 2.8v processor voltage Allows newer processor technology to work in your current system
Redesigned clock buffer for older socket 5 systems Protects the processor from potential damage in systems with 5v voltage clocks
Advanced Pentium processor technology
  • 0.35 micron
  • 32K on-chip cache
Higher performance on all software applications
MMX technology enhancements
  • 57 new instructions
  • SIMD (Single Instruction, Multiple Data)
Changes to Intel architecture improve performance for multimedia and communication applications designed for MMX technology

A note on compatibility: A standard Pentium processor with MMX technology used as an upgrade may cause processor and/or system damage over time due to the voltage differences of the system and processor. The Pentium OverDrive with MMX technology is the only processor recommended for upgrading your processor to MMX technology.
