Product Information
General information
The IBM 10/100 Ethernet Adapter (Low Profile Enabled) brings you a high performance network interface based on the advanced PCI local bus platform.
It supports:
  • 32-bit data transfer with bus master architecture
  • Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) to reduce power consumption through better coordination with the operating system
  • Wake-On-LAN (WOL) for remote wake up after hours
  • OnNow/PC99 for instant bootup

The WOL feature lets the network administrator remotely wake up any computer after hours. With PCI 2.2 systems, all WOL signaling and power connections are via the PCI BUS connector between the adapter and the system. When the Desktop Management Interface (DMI) Agent is installed, this card lets network administrators take full control over all the desktop hardware and software resources on the network. The adapter uses a single RJ-45 connection and comes with a standard height PCI 2.2 bracket installed. It includes a low-profile PCI bracket to allow installation in the latest low profile systems. The adapter conforms to IEEE 802.3u 100BASE-TX, IEEE802.3 10BASE-T standard and meets PCI local bus revision 2.2 specifications. The 10/100 Mbps speed supports half- and full-duplex mode and is auto-sensed by auto negotiation technology that conforms to the IEEE 802.3u standard. Extensive drivers for commonly used network operation systems such as Microsoft Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT 4.0, IBM OS/2 LAN Server, and Novell NetWare 4.x, 5.0 are supported.

The IBM 10/100 Ethernet Adapter (Low Profile Enabled) provides a low cost, high-performance connection to 10Base-T or 100Base-TX. Features
include:
  • 10/100 Mbps dual speed auto negotiation
  • 10/100 Mbps full-duplex operation
  • Automatic I/O address and IRQ setup
  • Single RJ-45 connector for 10/100 Mbps operation
  • 32-bit data transfer with bus master for PCI interface
