The following is from John, an Aptiva M40 owner who upgraded to a P133
I own an Aptiva 2168M40 with the processor upgraded from the original
75Mhz to a BOXBP80502133SU073/SSS. The BIOS read the upgrade and other
system configuration programs confirmed it as well. I'm happy about the
change. Changing the jumpers and taking out the old chip was easy.
Although I had to use some lens cleaning paper to remove some grease
that had come from the sloppy installation of the old heatsink. Oh well.
I've been running my new Intel 133 for ten minutes! Wow! I set the
jumpers, put in the chip, connected fan, crossed fingers and
voila.......
Now you and others should have no problems:-)
All the Best
John
