MWAVE users looking for a simpler 20D install
alternative should consider the Unified SETUP.EXE
This CD (a re-release of the same buggy 20D drivers found on IBM's website with the single MIDI patch) IS now available. From most reports this is far from the "cure-all" *magic CD* IBM suggests will resolve all MWAVE issues however if one MUST install the 20D drivers since it's *FREE* it's likely the best way to go.
If nothing else automating the install will avoid any errors in what is unquestionably the most un-user-friendly update file in history.
In addition to the 20D drivers (sorry Stingray owners, you're out of luck as 20E is not included) this CD contains "all of the technical updates and fixes pertaining to the Mxx, Axx, and Cxx machines, excluding the models mentioned below." In addition also included on the CD are a few "goodies" like the IBM Update Connector and Microsoft's Internet Explorer 3.02.
